ACRS., 1969, Camellia News, No.36, p.14, Reg. No.108, invalidly as ‘Rose Ann’: Originated by H.P. Matthews, East Brighton, Victoria, Australia as a seedling of 'Kanjirō' that first bloomed 1967. The flowers are 7 cm across, deep rose, fading as flower ages. Early blooming on an upright, dense, vigorous plant. Flowers incomplete double. Please note that there was a cultivar with same name bred in USA in 1951 as C. japonica 'Rose Ann', so this cultivar was invalid and add its originated person's name in the bracket.
