Tourje, 1955, American Camellia Yearbook, p.35: A ‘Magnoliiflora’ (Hagoromo) seedling, originated by Marshall’s Camellia Nursery, San Gabriel, California, USA. The colour is a faint blush overcast in bud form but pure white when open. The semi-double flowers have 16 petals, the centre three not opening as much as the others and forming a trumpet effect in centre to the flower. The size is from 10-12.5 cm across and flowering extends from mid-season through late. The plant has upright growth wth dark green leaves. Ortho­graphic error: ‘Royal Trumpeteer’.
