American Camellia Yearbook, 1991, p.79, Reg. No.2209: A very large size, red with frosted sheen on front of petals, semi-double seedling of C.reticulata Harbinger x C.reticulata ‘Crimson Robe’ (Dataohong), that blooms early to mid-season. Originated by Marvin Jernigan, Warner Robins, Georgia, USA. The 10 year old seedling first flowered 1987. Average flower size is 17.5 cm across x 8 cm deep with 23 petals, yellow stamens, clear filaments. Plant growth is upright and rapid in rate with dark green leaves 11 cm long x 4 cm wide.
