Satin Sheen (Camellia japonica) ACS Registration #3090. This 11-year-old C. japonica chance seedling of ‘Lipstick’ first bloomed in 2012. It was originated, registered, and propagated by Pat B. Johnson of Cairo, Georgia. Bloom: The large sized 10.16cm x 3.81cm semi-double form flower is red. It has yellow anthers and pink filaments. The long lasting blooms fall in one piece, have heavy petal texture, and consistent form. The petals are crinkled with a satin sheen. Plant: The plant habit is upright. The growth rate is average. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses.  The medium green leaves average 7.62cm x 3.81cm with medium serration.  Midseason to late.
