Shilixiang

Shilixiang (C. sinensis). Kunming County Gazetteer, 1841.Small tree, medium-leaf, early-sprouting type. Growth habit: Semi-spreading tree posture, with relatively dense branching. Leaf: long elliptic, dark green, margin slightly undulate, apex gradually acuminate. thick, soft texture, blade flat with a few slightly inward folded. fine serrations, leaf surface slightly raised. Bud and shoot: Buds and young shoots yellow-green in color, with relatively abundant pubescence (hairs). Flower:  diameter about 3 cm, with 6–9 petals and 5 sepals. Growth and stress tolerance: Early sprouting. Exhibits strong cold resistance, drought resistance, and relatively strong resistance to pests and diseases. Aroma characteristic: The buds and leaves emit a rich floral fragrance 1–2 hours after being plucked. Processing and quality:Suitable for making green tea, with exceptionally high aroma and excellent quality. Yield: Generally average yield level.

Note: 'Shilixiang' (also known as 'Shili Gongcha') has a history that can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty, and it has been cultivated for over 1,200 years. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, it was listed as an imperial tribute.

十里香 （Camellia sinensis 'Shilixiang'). 《昆明县志》1841年。植株小乔木形、中叶类、早芽种。树姿半开展，分枝较密。叶形长梢圆，叶色深绿，叶缘徽波， 叶尖渐尖，叶肉厚，叶质柔软，叶身平展，少数徽内折，锯齿细，叶面微隆起，芽叶黄绿色，茸毛较多。 花冠直径3厘米，花瓣6-9片，花萼5片。发芽期早生， 抗寒性、抗早性与抗病虫能力均较强。芽叶采下1、2小 时后便挥发出浓郁的花香。适制绿茶，香气特高，品 质优良。单产水平一般。

十里香（又名“十里贡茶”）的历史可以追溯到唐代，至今已有超过1200年的栽培史。它在明朝万历年间被列为皇家贡品。
