Fendig, 1953, American Camellia Yearbook: Pink. Semi-double. Early. Thompson, 1953, American Camellia Yearbook, p.78-79: A seedling of Rainy Sun originated by Harvey Short, Ramona, California, USA. A loose, somewhat spidery, semi-double with 5 out-jutting guard petals, which give the flower its star effect, and other smaller petals arranged loosely in the centre with a few stamens. Size, 9-10 cm across. The foliage is compact and dark green.
