American Camellia Yearbook, 1960, p.207, Reg. No.474: A 10 year old chance seedling, originated by W.M. Quattlebaum, North Charleston, South Carolina, USA, that first bloomed 1955. Plant growth is average and rapid in rate with dark green, serrated leaves, 8 cm x 5 cm. The deep pink, peony form flower, 11 cm across x 6 cm deep, has 30 petals and an occasional petaloid with numerous, yellow stamens. Blooms early to mid-season. Sport: Susie Q Variegated.
