ACS Registration #2922. The Camellia Journal,2014, 69(2):30 with color photo. American Camellia Yearbook, 2014, p. 136 with color photo and description. This 55+ year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in in the mid 1950’s. It was originated by an unknown individual and registered and propagat-ed by Auburn-Opelika Men’s Camellia Club of Auburn, Alabama. Bloom: The very large sized 14cm x 7.7cm to 8.89cm semidouble form flower is RHS color chart-Red-Purple Group 66D Pink. It has yellow anthers and yellow-white filaments. The bloom consists of 22 petals. This long lasting profuse bloomer falls in one piece with heavy petal texture and consistent form. Plant: The plant habit is upright. The growth rate is vigorous. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. Leaf: The dark green leaves average 10.2cm x 4.5cm with medium serration. Bloom season: Midseason to late.
