Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.152 with colour photo; English translation p.104. Medium size, deep red, tubular single, wide circle of stamens. Flowers mid-season to late. A goldfish camellia with leaves split to 3 to 5 tips. Upright, vigorous growth. Considered to be a seedling of ‘Goldfish Camellia’ (Kingyoba-tsubaki), origin details unknown. From Aichi Prefecture.
