» English Description

Tuyama, 1968, Camellias of Japan, pl.48, p.24, description, p.99: Bush camellia cultivar of stout growth. Leaves elliptic or narrowly elliptic, somewhat undulate, with glabrous petioles. White peony flowered with petals irregularly undulated that become more strongly wavy at the centre, with stamens intermingled with the petals. The base of the flower is shaded yellow. Late flowering. This cultivar is often taken as synonymous with Shirabyōshi of the Tokyo district, but it is different in floral shape, the leaves being more slender and more shortly acuminate at the apex. An old cultivar of the Nagoya district.
