Youtang Chunxiu

Ikeda, 1974, American Camellia Yearbook, p.114 as ‘Fen-moutan’. No description. Feng et al., 1986, Yunnan Camellias of China, p.78 as ‘Yinfenmudan’: Leaves elliptic-ovate, slightly reclinate on both sides, apices acuminate, bases broad-cuneate, 7.5-10 cm long x 3-4 cm wide. Flowers bright pink (RHS.CC.68A) diameter 11-13 cm. Petals 25­-30 in 4-5 whorls, outer whorls flat, inner whorls folded, curved and erect. Stamens numerous, divided into several groups by curved petals. Pistils well developed, very few rudimentary, fertile. This is a new cultivar selected from seeds of ‘Zaotaohong’ by researchers in the Kun­ming Botanical Garden. It is a vigorous grower with bright pink flowers. Early blooming. Dif­ferent reading: ‘Yin-fen Mou-tan’. Synonyms: ‘Pink Peony’, ‘Spinel Pink Peony’, ‘Fenmoutan’. As already had a  same name under Camellia ja ponica 'Yinfen Mudan', so this one was changed to a new name 'Youtang Chunxiu'. Youtang is the given name of Mr. Y.T. Liu who provided many camellia cultivars for the researches by T.T.Yü.

原产地：中国云南中科院昆明植物研究所植物园。

性状描述：花粉红色，松散牡丹型，大型花，花径11~13cm，花瓣25~30枚，宽卵圆形，4~5轮排列，外轮花瓣较平，内轮曲折卷旋、直立，雄蕊多数，分束夹生于曲折的花瓣中，雌蕊多数发育良好，能结实，花量稠密。叶片绿色，长椭圆状卵圆形，长7.5~10cm，宽3~4cm，先端渐尖至长渐尖，基部宽楔形，叶面微内曲；植株开张，生长中等。花期：11月下旬至翌年2月上旬。

识别点：本品种从‘早桃红’自然杂交种子实生苗中选育，花色粉红，明亮，内轮花瓣曲折卷旋、直立，花期特早，每年11月初始花，12月中旬盛花。

Yinfen Mudan银粉牡丹(Pink Peony)。（C. reticulata)云南茶。1974，中国云南昆明植物研究所培育选出。Zaotaohong (早桃红）自然实生种。半重瓣、蝶翅形、紫桃色、大~巨大 (11~13cm)、花瓣约15~20枚、4~5重排列、割裂状蕊、花期1~2月、果期9~10月。同种异 名：粉牡丹(Fenmoutan)、Pink Peony、Spinel Pink Peony。
