Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.275 with colour photo; English translation p.193. Small, vermilion, tubular single, cylindrical stamen cluster. Flowers mid-season to late. Leaves narrowly elliptic, small. Upright, vigorous growth. Selected from wild japonicas near Dōgo Hot Spring, Ehime Prefecture. Named and released by Tokihiro Kōno around 1980.
