Camellia hiepii a new species from the Central Highlands of Vietnam

A very new  Vienamese Camellia was recently published in Kew Bulletin, with the title "Camellia hiepii (Theaceae), a new species from the Central Highlands of Vietnam' in 19 July 2023.  please visit https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12225-023-10098-9 for more detail.

Summary: A new species of Camellia sect. Piquetia (Theaceae), C. hiepii sp. nov. from the Chu Mu Mountains, M'Drak District, Daklak Province, Vietnam, is described and illustrated. The new species is most similar to C. longii Orel & Luu, but differs in having young branches sparsely pubescent, larger leaf blades, more secondary veins, flowers 8 ‒ 9 cm in diameter with more petals, longer stamens, and shorter styles. Photographs, an illustration, vernacular names, and a preliminary conservation assessment are provided.
