Two new species of Camellia section Bidoupia were published online today in Taiwania 70(4): 677‒688, 2025 DOI: 10.6165/tai.2025.70.677,
莲香山茶 Camellia lienthuongae V.D. Luong, Vuong & V.C. Nguyen
名德山茶 Camellia danhducii V.D. Luong, Vuong & V.C. Nguyen
(Please click the above names to visit detailed information in the International Camellia Register on both new species)
Both species share morphological similarities with Camellia inusitata (扁枝山茶), such as a single, branchless trunk, but clearly differ in leaf size and shape, larger flowers, shorter pedicels, bracteoles, petals, and sepals, as well as ovary and style indumentum.

Both new species were added to the International Camellia Register together with those photos published.
