[Description] Branchlets pubescent. Leaves narrowly lanceolate, 7-10 cm long, 1.5-2. 5 cm wide. The specimen was discovered by W.T. Tsang in 1936 in Vietnam. In 1949 in Kew Bulletin (4), J. R. Sealy published the scientific name of the species Camellia gracilis, based on Merrill's data record. The Vietnamese name is Thin Tea because of its long and thin flower stalks.
