Leaves obovate, thinly coriaceous, 11-19 cm long, 5-8 cm wide, apices acute with a 1-1.5 cm long acumen, bases obtuse or slightly rounded; lateral veins 10-13 pairs, equally raised on both surfaces in the dry state; glabrous, margins serrulate, petioles 4-7 mm long, Flowers axillary, minute, white, pedicels 3-5mm long; bracts 2, born on the middle of the pedicel, opposite; sepals 5, ovoid, 3 mmlong apices acute, ciliate; petals 6, glabrous, outer 3 petals broadly elliptic, 8-9 mm long, slightly coriaceous, inner 3 obovate, 1-1.2 cm long, basally connate; stamens 7-9 mm long, filaments free; ovaries grey-pubescent, 3-locular; styles 6 mm long, slender, glabrous, apically 3-cleft.

Pedicels 3-5 mm long. Bracts 2. Sepals 5, ciliate. Petals 6, 8-12 mm long, broadly elliptic to obovate, united at the base with the staminal column. Androecium 7-9 mm, filaments free from the base. Gynoecium glabrous, about 6 mm long, 3 styles, slightly di-vided at the tip, ovary tomentose. Blooming season: late autumn to winter. Capsules tri-globose, 1.0-2.0 cm in diameter, 3 locules, pericarp wall thin. Leaves obvate, tip acute, base obtuse, 10.0-19.0 cm long, 5.0-8.0 cm wide, margin thinly serrulate, thinly coriaceous, lower surface slightly pubescent, midribs and lateral veins raised on both surfaces of blade. Petioles 3-7 mm long. Shrub up to 3 m in height, young shoots pubescent, older branches smooth and gray-brown in color. Distribution: Southern Yunnan Province and western Guangxi; Elevation: 250-1,300 m; Specific locality: Yachang Forest Farm, Leye County, Guangxi, China.
