Sunyatseni, monogr. ser. 1: 41. 1981. [Description] Shrub 2. 5 m tall; branchlets with brown pilose pubescence, old branches brown. Leaves coriaceous, narrowly oblong, 4-5.5 cm long, 1. 3-1. 8 cm wide, apices acute, basescuneate, shiny above; yellowish-brown below, at first villous, later glabrous; lateralveins 5 pairs, equally obscure from both surfaces; margins serrulate; petioles 3-4 mmong pubescent. Flowers terminal, sessile, white, 2.5-3 cm in diameter; bracts andiepals 10, deciduous, obovate, 5-9 mm longy exterior glabrous, margins ciliate, apicesslightly pointed; petals 5, 1. 5 cm long; stamens in 3 series, nearly free, 8-10 mm long; ovaries pubescent; styles glabrous, 8-10 mm long, apices shallowly 3-cleft. Capsulesglobose, 1. 5 cm in diameter, 1-locular, 1 seed per locule; seeds globose, 1.2 cm in diameter, dark brown; fruit shell thin, 3-valvate dehiscent; pedicels relatively short. Distinguished from C. brevistyla by narrow oblong leaves, narrower and longer andwith apices acute.

褐枝短柱茶Camellia phaeociada Chang, sp. nov. 张宏达，1981. 《山茶属植物的系统研究》第41页。【标本】四川：会东县城至秧发大队，戴天伦等11823。云南：双江，一区，太平至勐文途中，海拔1200米，灌木，花白色，果红色，1957年9月26，辛景三1245；双柏，尹文清861 (模式标本Typus! in Bot. Inst. Austro-Sin.)巍山县，杨增宏6967。【形态特征】灌木，高2.5米；嫩枝有褐色柔毛；老枝褐色。叶革质，狭长圆形，长4-5.5厘米，宽1.3-1.8厘米，先端尖锐，基部楔形，上面发亮，下面黄褐色，初时有长柔毛，以后变秃，侧脉约5对，在上下两面均不明显，边缘有细锯齿，叶柄长3-4毫米，有短柔毛。花顶生，无柄，白色，直径2.5-3厘米，苞片及萼片10，脱落，倒卵形，长5-9毫米，背面秃净，边缘有睫毛，先端略尖；花瓣5,长1.5厘米；雄蕊3轮，近离生，长8-10毫米；子房有毛；花柱无毛，长8-10毫米，先端3 浅裂。蒴果圆球形，直径1.5厘米，1室，有种子1个；种子圆球形，直径1.2厘米，暗褐色，果壳薄，3爿裂开；果梗极短。和短柱茶C. brevistyla的区别在于叶片狭长圆形，较狭而长，先端尖锐；和梨果短柱茶C. pyriformis也有区别，后者叶倒披针形，蒴果梨形或倒卵形，基部狭窄类似子房柄。
