Alma Bellamy Schatz  (C. japonica)   Registered in 2020. ACS Registration #3197. This 14 year-old C. japonica chance seedling of 'Elegans Miniata' first bloomed in 2012. It was originated, registered and propagated by Pat B. Johnson of Cairo, Georgia, USA. Bloom The large sized 12.7cm x 5.08cm semidouble form flower is vibrant, brilliant red with bright yellow anthers and cream filaments. This cultivar is a profuse bloomer, falls in one piece, is long lasting, has heavy petal texture and has consistent form. Plant The plant habit is upright and open. The growth rate is slow. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition. Leaf The medium green leaves average 7.6cm x 3.8cm with low serration. Bloom season Early to midseason.
