ACS., Feb.1987, The Camellia Journal, vol.42, No.1, Reg. No.2037: Miniature to small, dark red, formal double, C.japonica chance seedling. Flowers mid-season. Originated in USA by Dr J. Holtzman, Crows Landing, California. American Camellia Yearbook, 1987, p.82. The 15 year old seedling first bloomed in 1978. Average flower size is 6.5 cm across x 5 cm deep with 50 petals.
