Satō, 1975, Chūbu no Tsubaki, p.85, colour photo and description: Dark red, semi-double, 10 cm across, with 15-18 petals in 2-3 rows, reflexed when fully open. Central stamens, yellow anthers, pinkish filaments. Leaves mid-green, lanceolate, apex acumi­nate, margins serrulate. See: Seibundō Shinkōsha., 1979, Senchinshū, pp.27, 204. Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.47 with colour photo; English translation p.30. Upright, vigorous growth. The original tree survives in Seki City. Named and released by Minoru Satō.
