Hogg, 1838, Magazine of Horticulture, 4:155: Originated by Floy. Beautiful light rose, very double. Orthographic variants: ‘Bostoniana’, ‘Bostoniae’. Berlèse, 1840, Monographie: Flower about 10 cm across, cherry red, outer petals in many rows, imbricated, rounded, regu­larly tiered, those at the centre very small, upright, elongated, sexual organs invisible. Syn­onym: ‘Bostoniana Plenissima’. Originated in USA.
