Berlèse, 1840, Monographie ed.2, p.117-118, 231 as ‘Drummundii’: Leaves 6 cm wide x 10 cm long, deformed, some long, others rounded, venation prominent, shell-like, apex recurved, large serrations, dull green; flower about 8 cm across, double, clear, cherry red with touches of rose-pink; exterior petals in 2-3 rows, broad, rounded, entire, forming a saucer, well imbricated, of a charming rose red; those of the interior, numerous, in groups, erect, serried, with occasional petaloid stamens. Orthographic errors: ‘Drummundi’, ‘Drumundii’, ‘Drummondi’. Originated in England.
