GSCI43 (Jinfeng), New clonal variety. Small arbor type. Medium-leaf size, early sprouting.
It was selected individually from the progenies of natural hybridization between the Fuding Dabaicha variety and Yunnan Daye variety in 1956~1979 by Hangzhou Tea Research Institute. Now it has been popularized in the tea area of Zhejiang province and introduced to the provinces of Guangxi, Anhui. Jiangsu, Hubei, Henan. Shanxi, Guizhou and Jiangxi.
Plant higher, semi-opened type, with higher branching position and medium den-sity, Leaves horizontal, length 8.7~9.3 cm, width 3.5~3.8 cm. Oblong in shape. Smooth and thicker in texture, green in color and glossy. With blunt pointed tips and neat margin as well as uniform serrations. 7~8 pairs of vein. The sprouting period in the spring season appears in the first ten days to the middle of March. The peak period of one bud and three leaves shoots appears in the middle of April. With medium sprouting density and potent sprouting ability. Shoots stout and dark green in color with slight violet tint, profuse fine hairs. Water extracts 47.4%. Suitable to the manufacture of black tea and green tea. The roasted green tea and Yinfeng green tea prepared with GSCT4s variety as the raw material in spring season is characterized by its fleshy and tightly rolled leaf, green and glossy with fine hairs, fragrant and lasting aroma, full and fresh taste, light green and clean liquor as well as bright infused leaf. The congou black tea prepared during the summer and autumn season is characterized by its tightly and finely rolled leaf, bloom color with fine hairs, full taste and fragrant aroma, bright and reddish liquor. The broken black tea prepared shows a superior quality.
Suitable to popularize in the tea region in the south-of-Yanzhe river for the manufacture of green tea and Gongfu black tea.
The sprouting ability is decreased significantly during the drought season, it is recommended to apply the fertilizer and irrigate during the summer season if possible. Easy to infect with the Ceroospora disease during the summer season, it is necessary to control in time.

【产地与分布】由杭州市农业科学研究院茶叶研究所（原杭州市茶叶科学研究所）于1956~1979年从福鼎大白茶和云南大叶种自然杂交后代中采用单株选育法育成。全国大部分产茶区有引种，浙江、安徽、江苏、江西、河南、湖北、陕西、贵州、山东等省有引种。1987年通过全国农作物品种审定委员会认定，编号GS13043-1987。【形态特征】 植株较高大，树姿半开张，分枝密度中等。叶片呈水平状着生，椭圆形，叶色绿，叶面平，富光泽，叶身较平，叶缘平，叶尖钝尖，叶质较软。花冠直径2.9〜3.4cm,花瓣6~7瓣，子房茸毛多，花柱3〜4裂。【特性】 春季萌发早，2012年杭州观测，一芽二叶期出现在4月6日，比福鼎大白茶早4天。芽叶生育力強，持嫩性较强，绿色，鸾毛多，一芽ニ.叶百芽重46.0g。2011年在杭州取样，春茶一芽二叶干样约含茶多酚18.4%、氨基酸4.7%、咖啡碱3.5%、水浸出物46.4%。产量高，每667m2可产干茶250kg。适制红茶、绿茶。制緑茶，绿润显毫，香高味浓；夏秋茶制红碎茶，乌润有毫，高味浓厚。抗寒性较强。扦插繁殖力较强。【适栽地区】江南茶区。【栽培要点】江南茶区按常规茶园规格种植和定剪。夏季注意赤星病防治。
