Jinyan Liangying

Jinyan Liangying (C. japonica cultivar'Nuccio's Carousel' × C. azalea). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.189. HA-79-2., a cross seedling (NZMD-No.2) of C. japonica cultivar'Nuccio's Carousel' × C. azalea. Flowers deep peach red, rose-double form, large size, 10.0-12.5cm across and 5.0cm deep with over 45 petals arranged orderly in 4-5 rows, when a flower fully opens, a few of short stamens appears, filaments pale red. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, broad elliptic which are shaped as tortoiseshell, margins sharply serrate at the upper part. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Jinyan’s Pretty Shadow”.
