New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1971, vol.VII, No.1, p.5, Reg. No.52: Hand pollinated seedling of C.reticulata wild form x ‘Shot Silk’ (Dayinhong) originated by Darcy O’Toole, Ohope, New Zealand. It first flowered 1964. Growth habit upright and dense. The flower form is semi-double with 21-24 petals, 16 cm across x 7.5 cm deep, the stamens golden and in fascicles; the colour rose-pink (RHC.CC.55A-55B) The leaves are reticulate, keeled and dark green, 12 cm x 6 cm. The flowers have good substance and are notched, folded and upright in the centre.
