Qiuxia (C. oleifera), a new variety authorized by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration of China in 2012, with the variety right number: 20120142, which was bred by Chen Yongzhong, Wang Debin, Wang Xiangnan, etc. from Hunan Academy of Forestry.

秋霞Camellia oleifera 'Qiuxia'是2012年国家林草局授权的新品种，【品种权号】20120142，【培育人】陈永忠、王德斌、王湘南、彭邵锋，【品种权人】湖南省林业科学院。【品种特性】‘秋霞’是通过普通油茶优树资源选育获得。树高1.8-2.8m，叶椭圆或长椭圆形，长4.0-8.0cm，宽2.0-4.0cm，边缘锯齿细密，叶背面光；花径4.2-7.5cm，花瓣5-8 枚，白色，倒心形，先端凹入；花药色浅，偶有瓣化现象，花粉量少，花柱4-5 裂至1/2 上下；蒴果近球形，果皮青黄色具锈斑纹，果径3.0-4.4cm，果高2.9-4.2cm，鲜果出籽率44.3%，干籽含油率38.2％，种仁含油率57.5％，油质优；湖南花期10 月中旬-12 月中下旬，果熟期10 月下旬。
