Berlèse, 1837, Monographie, ed.1, pp.85, 230: Leaves of a medium size, ovate-lanceolate, of a faded green, nearly nerveless; bud rounded, depressed, scales blackish at the base, whitish at the summit: flower 7 cm across, full, regular, of a delicate cherry-red; petals hand­somely imbricated, forming a cup as in Florida. Originated in Germany. Not related to the Sweet or Ridolfi ‘Radiata’.
