Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.68, colour photo and description: Medium size, white, wide campanulate single with 3 large, rounded, emarginate petals and 2 small, irregular, outer petals. Stamens in a central cylinder with pale lemon filaments, joined for their lower third, and yellow anthers. Mid-season bloom­ing profusely. Leaves dark green, slightly undulate, elliptic to obovate, apices acuminate, mar­gins serrate. Originated in Chūbu area, Japan. Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.149 with colour photo; English translation p.102. A chance seedling of Shūfūraku. Named and released by Minoru Satō in 1964.
