Sayake

Yokoyama, 1975, Gendai Tsubaki Meikan, p.127, illustration and description: A small, white, 5 petalled, campanulate single with a short, compact stamen column in the centre. Leaves lanceolate, apex acuminate, recurved, margins sharply serrate, edges rolled, late flowering. Resembles Chōchidori but smaller and round petals. A seedling of Wakanoura, selected in 1971. Originated in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Named by Sa’e Suzuki, released by Totsurō Nakamura.
