Debonnaire, 1832, Annales de la Société d’Horticulture, Paris, 11:15-20: Leaves 8 cm x 5 cm, ovate, somewhat acuminate, venation apparent, mid-green; buds large, a little pointed, scales yellowish; flower 8 cm across, double, cherry-red, petals with nuances of red and rose, long, narrow but well imbricated. See illustration 654, Berlèse, 1841, Iconographie. Originated in England. Orthographic errors: ‘Scintilans’, ‘Scintillous’, ‘Scintillano’.
