Shirahime

Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.44, colour photo & description: Medium size, white, cup-shaped single, with 5 overlapping, concave, crinkled petals and a broad, central stamen cluster having white filaments, joined for their lower half, and yellow anthers. Blooms early to mid-season. Leaves dark green, elliptic. Originated in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Natural seedling of Jōmanji. Named for the Shiroyama-hime Shrine by Tadao Yamaguchi in 1980.
