Yokoyama & Kirino, 1989, Nihon no Chinka, p.20, description, p.21, colour photo: Small to medium size, white, wide campanulate single with 5 regular, rounded, reflexed, slightly emarginate petals and a narrow stamen column with white fila­ments, joined for their lower third, and yellow anthers. Blooms mid-season. Leaves bright green, elliptic, apices acute, margins bluntly serrate. Selected from wild japonicas growing in Hirado City, Nagasaki Pre­fecture, Japan. Discovered and named by Kenji Maeda in 1981. Different reading: ‘Shiroyuri’.
