Kaempfer, 1712, Amoenetatum Exoticarum as ‘Sokkobin’. No description. Originated in Japan. It is possible that this vari­ety is the same as Shokkō in Itō, Jukyū, 1739, Honzō Hanamaki’e. See JCS., 1989, Tsubaki, No.28, p.10.(Believed extinct.)
