Flowers are white, 4.0-5.0 cm in diameter, borne at the tip of the shoot and in leaf axils. Perules 9-11, slightly villous. Petals 5-6, 2.0-2.5 cm long,1.0-2.0 cm wide, obovate, cleft at the tip. Androecium glabrous, 1.5-2.0 cm long, filaments free at the base. Gynoecium 1.5-2.0 cm long, 3 styles, free, not fused, at the base, ovary glabrous. Blooming season: autumn. Capsules globose, 2.0-2.5 cm in diameter, 3 locules, pericarp wall 1.5 mm thick, surface tuberculate, glabrous. Leaves elliptic or long obovate, tip acuminate or acute, base cuneate, 8.0-12.0 cm long, 2.0-4.0 cm wide, sparsely serrulate, lower surface with midrib slightly raised. Petioles 6-8 mm long. Shrub or small tree up to 4 m tall, young shoots glabrous, slightly angular, older branches smooth, gray -brown in color. Distribution: Liangfengjiang Arboretum, Nanning City, Guangxi, China.

高继银、帕克斯、杜跃强，2005. 《山茶属植物主要原种彩色图集》浙江科学技术出版社，第272页。花白色，花径4.0~5.0厘米，单花或多花顶生或腋生。 鳞片9~11枚，卵圆形，先端钝，略被毛，长1.4~1.7厘米。花瓣5~6枚，长倒卵状，长2.0~2.5厘米，宽1.0~2.0厘米，先端有裂□。雄蕊无毛，长1.5~2.0厘米，基部离生。雌蕊长1.5~2.0厘米，花柱3条，基部离生，子房无毛。花期秋季。蒴果球形，直径2.0~2.5厘米，3室，果皮厚1.5毫米，表面有瘤状凸起。叶椭圆形或长倒卵形，先端渐尖或急尖，基部楔形，长8.0~12.0厘米，宽2.0~4.0厘米，叶齿稀疏，叶两面中脉略凸起。叶柄长6~8毫米。灌木或小乔木，高可达4米，嫩枝无毛，略有棱，老枝光滑，灰褐色。分布：广西壮族自治区南宁市良凤江树木园。
