白丝毛红山茶 Camellia albosericea Hung T.ChangCamellia albosericea

Flowers are light-red to red, 5.0-6.0 cm in diameter, borne at the tip of the shoots and in leaf axils. Perules 8-9, outside surface white-silky pubescent. Petals 6-7,3.0-3.5 cm long, obovate, white-silky pubescent on back, fused with the staminal column from the base up to 5-6 mm. Androecium glabrous, about 2 cm long, outer layer of stamens fused from the base into a cup up to 10 mm long. Gynoecium 1.5-2.0 cm long, 3 styles slightly cleft at the tip, ovary tomentose. Blooming season: late winter to early spring.Capsules globose, 3 locules, pericarp wall 8 mm in thickness.Leaves oblong, tip sharply acuminate, base cuneate, 7.0-10.0 cm long, 3.0-4.0 cm wide, margin thinly serrulate, upper surface glabrous, lower surface with lateral visible. Petiole 6-8 mm long, pubescent.Shrub up to 2 m tall, young shoots villous at first and then becoming glabrous, terminal buds white-silky villous, older branches smooth and gray-brown in color.(Data compiled from Chang, 1998; Gao, unpub.) 高继银、帕克斯、杜跃强，2005. 《山茶属植物主要原种彩色图集》浙江科学技术出版社，第28页。花淡红色至红色，花径5.0 ~ 6.0厘米，顶生或腋生。鱗片8~9枚，被白色长丝毛。花瓣6~7枚，长3.0 ~ 3.5厘米，倒卵形，外面被白丝毛，基部与雄蕊柱连生5 ~ 6毫米。雄蕊无毛，长约2厘米，花丝基部连生形成10毫米长的短管。雌蕊长1.5~2.0厘米，花柱3浅裂，子房被绒毛。花期冬末至春初。蒴果球形，3室，果皮厚8毫米。叶长圆形，先端急渐尖，基部楔形，长7.0~ 10.0厘 米，宽3.0 ~ 4.0厘米，边缘具细齿，叶面侧脉不明显，叶 背侧脉可见。叶柄长6~8毫米，被柔毛。灌木，高可达2米，开始嫩技有长毛，而后变无毛，顶芽被白色丝毛，老枝光滑，灰褐色。分布： 四川省南部攀枝花一带的高海拔山地， 海拔1200-1500 米。可寻地点：四川省攀枝花市小宝鼎前进乡。
