Leaves coriaceous, oblong, 5-7.5 cm long, 1.5-2. 3 cm wide, apices acuminate, bases cuneate; green above, greyish-green in the drystate, not shiny, midvein puberulent; same color below, glabrous; lateral veins 10-12pairs, somewhat visible above, obscure below; entire; petioles 3-5 mm long, pubescent. Flowers terminal or axillary, pedicels very short; bracts 5, semilunar to orbicular, 1-3mm long, pubescent; sepals 5, ovate, completely free, 4-5 mm long, pubescent, apicesacute; petals white, 7, 1-1.2 cm long, outer 2 petals suborbicular, coriaceous, 8 mm long, pubescent, inner 5 petals ovoid, basally connate for ca. 2 mm, thicker towards thecenter, coriaceous, margins thin, pubescent; stamens 1 cm long, filament tube ca. 5 mmlong, free filaments 5 mm long, sparsely pubescent; ovaries pubescent; stylespubescent, apices shallowly 3-cleft. Capsules globose, 1. 5 cm in diameter, 1-locular, 1seeded, pericarp thin; seeds globose, 1.2 cm in diameter, seed coat black. This species differs from C. caudata by having entire leaves, more lateral veins andsepals longer.

无齿毛蕊茶Camellia edentata Chang, sp. nov. 张宏达，1981. 《山茶属植物的系统研究》第178页。【标本】广东：恩平，清湾，黄茂先110514。广西：田林，老山，海拔1350米，灌木，花白色，张肇骞11049 (模式标本 Typus! in Bot. Inst. Austro-Sin. )。和长尾毛蕊茶C. caudata的区别在于叶全缘，侧脉较多，萼片较长。【形态特征】灌木，嫩枝有灰色短柔毛。叶革质，长圆形，长5-7.5厘米，宽1.5-2.3厘 米，先端渐尖，基部楔形，上面绿色，干后灰绿色，不发亮，中脉有短柔毛，下面同色，无毛。侧脉10-12对，在上面多少能见，在下面不明显，全缘，叶柄长3-5毫米，有柔毛。花顶生及腋生，花梗极短；苞片5片，半圆形至圆形，长1-3毫米，有柔毛；萼片5片，卵形，几完全分离，长4-5毫米，有柔毛，先端尖。花瓣白色，7片，长1-1.2厘米，外侧2片近圆形，革质，长8毫米，被毛，内侧5片倒卵圆形，基部连生约2毫米，中部增厚，革质，边缘薄，有柔毛。雄蕊长1厘米，花丝管长约5毫米，游离花丝长5毫米，有稀疏柔毛。子房有毛，花柱有毛，先端3浅裂。蒴杲圆球形，直径1.5厘米，1室，有种子1粒，果爿薄；种子圆球形，直径1.2厘米，种皮黑色。
