» Description
Camellia hongiaoensis Orel & Curry. First published in Telopea 17: 101 (2014). Section: Dalatia, Telopea 17: 101 (2014)., TYPE: Vietnam. Khanh Hoa Province: in the vicinity of the City of Nha Trang, Luong Van Dung, Cuong Quang Truong & Pham Huu Nhan, Orel & Curry OC 36, 28/11/2013(Holotype, NSW). Endemic to the Da Lat Plateau in southern Vietnam.
Camellia hongiaoensis Orel & Curry possesses mostly solitary, axillary or terminal flowers; corolla parts (10-15, 11-13); distinctly recognizable outer whorl consisting either of sepals or petaloids, a random arrangement of petals in a tight and uneven spiral, numerous proximally fused stamens and a 4 or 5-carpellate ovary.

花大多单生，腋生或顶生；花冠各部分（10-15，11-13）；明显可辨认的外轮由萼片或花瓣组成，花瓣随机排列成紧密而不均匀的螺旋状，下部有许多愈合的雄蕊，子房有 4 或 5 个心皮。
