Camellia ingens Orel & Curry. First published in Long-term Study and Tax. Rev. Camellia amplexicaulis: 88 (2017). TYPE: Vietnam. Vinh Phuc Province; cultivated specimen, 10. 7. 2015, G. Orel & A. S. Curry TD 46 (holotype, QBG). Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the scabrous (rough) surface of mature fruit.

A field cultivated evergreen shrub, 4.0 m high; trunks multiple, upright habit; mature leaves with 15-18 (-20) pairs of secondary veins; leaf apex acute to shortly cuspidate; leaf base amplexicaul; petiole relatively short, stout, slightly falcate, of varying length; peduncle stout, linear, 1.0-1.5 cm, largely covered by sepals; mature flowers solitary, nodding, terminal, dark pink, with white petal margins; perianth parts 11; filaments mid to dark yellow, laterally compressed, glabrous, outer filaments proximally joined, inner filaments free to the base; styles 3, glabrous, light yellow, free to the base; mature fruit unevenly globular, large, smooth, shiny, glabrous, 8.0-9.0 cm diam., indistinctly 6-lobate, sutures 3 distinct; internal chambers 3, with 2 seeds per locule.

肖抱茎山茶Camellia ingens Orel & Curry. 采自田间栽培的常绿灌木，高4.0米；树干多枝，直立；成熟叶片有15-18（-20）对次脉；叶先端锐尖到短骤尖；叶基部抱茎；叶柄相对短，粗壮，稍镰刀形，长短不一；花序梗粗壮，线形，1.0-1. 5厘米，大部分被萼片覆盖；成熟花单生，有节，顶生，深粉红色，花瓣边缘白色；花被11部分；花丝中到深黄色，侧面压扁，无毛，外花丝下部连接，内花丝离生至基部；花柱3，无毛，浅黄色，离生至基部；成熟果实不均匀球状，大，光滑，发亮，无毛，直径8.0-9.0厘米、 成熟果不均匀球状，大，光滑，发亮，无毛，直径 8.0-9.0 厘米，不清楚地 6 裂，缝合线 3 明显；内室 3，每室有 2 粒种子。
