Perules 5-8, membranous, pubescent. Petals 5-7,2.5 cm long, 1.6 cm wide, long obovate, notched at the tip, slightly fused at the base. Androecium glabrous, about 1.8 cm long, filaments nearly free at the base. Gynoecium 1.9 cm long, 3-4 slightly pubescent styles, free at the base, ovary tomentose. Blooming season: autumn. Capsules globose, 2.0-2.5 cm in diameter, villous, 3-4 locules, surface folded and tuberculate. Seeds tomentose. Leaves elliptic in shape, tip acuminate, base broadly cuneate, 5.0-7.0 cm long, 3.0-5.0 cm wide, margin densely sharp-serrulate, glabrous on top and bottom, lower midrib slightly raised. Petioles 4-5 mm long. Shrub or small tree up to 4 m tall, shoots glabrous, angular, older branches smooth and gray in color. Distribution: High mountains in the contiguous areas between western Guangxi and southeastern Guizhou Province, China; Elevation:1,000-1,250 m; Specific locality: moutaintop forests of Yachang For-est Farm, Leye Country, Guangxi, China.

高继银、帕克斯、杜跃强，2005. 《山茶属植物主要原种彩色图集》浙江科学技术出版社，第276页。花白色，花径4.0~5.0厘米，单花顶生。鱗片5~8枚，膜质,被柔毛。花瓣5~7枚，长2.5厘米，宽1.6厘米，长倒卵形，先端凹，基部略连生。雄蕊无毛，长约1.8厘米，花丝基部近离生。雌蕊长1.9厘米，花柱3~4条，稍被毛，基部离生，子房被纸毛。花期秋季。蒴果球形，直径2.0~2.5厘米，被毛，3~4室，表面皱褶，有瘤状凸起。种子被毛。叶栖圆形，先端渐尖，基部阔楔形，长5.0~7.0厘米，宽3.0~5.0厘米，叶齿密而细尖，叶两面无毛，中脉在叶背略凸起。叶柄长4~5毫米。灌木或小乔木，树高可达4米，嫩枝无毛，有棱角，老枝光滑，灰色。分布：广西壮族自治区西部与贵州省东南部接壌的高山地区，海拔1000-1250米。可寻地点:广西壮族自治区 乐业县雅长林场的山顶林下。
