Sunyatseni, monogr. ser. 1:89. 1981. [Description] Shrub 3 m tall, branchlets glabrous, older branches grayish-white. Leavescoriaceous, narrowly elliptic, 6-9. 5 cm long, 2.5-3. 5 cm wide, apices acuminate, bases cuneate; olive-green above, shiny, glabrous; light green below, glabrous; lateral veins4-6 pairs, equally obscure on both surfaces; entire; petioles 1. 2-1.6 cm long, glabrous. Flowers terminal, sessile; bracts and sepals 10, lower 2-3 semilunate, 1.5-3 mm long, 4-7mm wide; remaining 7-8 perules from semi-orbicular to orbicular or obovate, 7-12 mmlong, 9-13 mm wide, inner and outer surfaces puberulent; petals 6, not open, outer 2pubescent, others glabrous; stamens glabrous; filaments basaly slightly adnate withpetals, remainder free; ovaries glabrous; styles ca. 1 cm long, apices shallowly 3-cleft. Flowering period October. In section Corallina this is the only species with entire margins. A single style is alsounusual for this section. This species is tentatively placed in this section because the fruit has not yet been seen.

Flowers are red or rose-colored, 6.0-9.0 cm in diameter, borne singly at the tips of twigs. Perules 10, both sides pubescent. Petals 8-9,3.5-5.5 cm long, 2.3-3.0 cm wide, obovate, tip emarginate, slightly united at the base with the staminal column. Androecium glabrous, 2.3-3.0 cm long, outer stamens slightly fused at the base into a short tube. Gynoecium glabrous, 2.0-2.6 cm long, 3 styles shallowly divided at the tip, ovary glabrous. Blooming season: mid-winter to spring.Capsules spindle-like, 3.0-6.0 cm long, 2.5-3.0 cm in diameter, 3 locules, pericarp wall 3-4 mm in thickness. Seeds glabrous. Leaves narrow-elliptic, tip long-acuminate, base cuneate, 6.0-10.0 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm wide, margin lacking serrations, upper surface with lateral veins visible, lower surface with midrib slightly raised, glabrous. Petiole 12-16 mm long. Shrub or small tree up to 3 m tall, young shoots glabrous, older branches smooth, gray-white in color. Distribution: Liannan County, in northwestern Guangdong Province and contiguous areas in southeastern Hunan Province; Elevation: 700-900 m; Specific locality: Dalongshan Forest Farm,Dalongshan, Liannan County, Guangdong Province, China.

连山离蕊茶Camellia lienshanensis Chang, sp. nov. 张宏达，1981. 《山茶属植物的系统研究》第89页。【标本】广东：连山，大龙山，1945年10月，陈少卿5678 (模式Typus! in Bot.Inst。 Austm-Sin.)；连南，金坑，黄洞，海拔700米，乔木，高7米，1958年9月20日，谭 沛祥59565。【形态特征】灌木，高3米，嫩枝无毛，老枝灰白色。叶革质，狭椭圆形，长6-9.5厘米，宽2.5-3.5厘米，先端长渐尖，基部楔形，上面橄榄绿色，发亮，无毛，下面浅绿 色，无毛，侧脉4-6对，在上下两面均隐约可见，全缘，叶柄长1.2-1.6厘米，无毛。花顶生，无柄，苞片及萼片10片，最下2-3片新月形，长1.5-3毫米，宽4-7毫米，其余7-8片由半圆形、圆形而倒卵形，长7-12毫米，宽9-13毫米，内外两侧均有短毛。花瓣6片，未开放，外侧2片有毛，其余无毛。雄蕊无毛，花丝基部略与花瓣连生，其余离生。子房无毛，花柱长约1厘米，先端3浅裂。花期10月。在离蕊荼组Corallina里，这是唯一的全缘的代表；单一的花柱在本组也是罕见的例子。由于不见果实，暂放在这个组。

高继银、帕克斯、杜跃强，2005. 《山茶属植物主要原种彩色图集》浙江科学技术出版社，第48页。花红色或玫瑰红色，花径6.0~9.0厘米，单花顶生。鳞片10枚，两面被短柔毛。花瓣8~9枚，长3.5~5.5厘米，宽2.3~3.0厘米，倒卵形，先端凹缺，基部与雄蕊柱略连生。雄蕊无毛，长2.3~3.0厘米，外轮花丝基部略连生形成短管。雌蕊无毛，长2.0~2.6厘米，花柱先端3浅裂。子房无毛。花期冬季中期至春季。蒴果纺锤形，长3.0~6.0厘米，直径2.5~3.0厘米，3室，果皮厚3~4毫米。种子无毛。叶窄长圆形，先端长渐尖，基部楔形，长6.0~10.0厘米，宽2.5~3.5厘米，边缘全缘光滑，叶面侧脉可见，叶背主脉略凸起，无毛。叶柄长12~16毫米。灌木和小乔木，高可达3米，嫩枝无毛，老枝光滑，灰白色。分布：广东省西北部的连南县以及与湖南省东南部接 壤的地区，海拔700-900米。可寻地点:广东省连南县大 垅山林场。
