Flowers are white, approximately 5 cm in diameter, borne singly at the tip of the shoot. Perules 5-9, dried membranous, pubescent. Petals 10, 2.5 cm long, 1.0-1.5 cm wide, oblong, slightly fused at the base. Androecium glabrous, about 1.5 cm long, filaments nearly free at the base. Gynoecium 1.5 cm long, 3-5 slightly pubescent styles, free, not fused at the base, ovary tomentose. Blooming season: autumn. Capsules oblate, 2.0-2.5 cm in diameter, 3-5 locules, surface tuberculate. Seeds tomentose. Leaves long and narrow, tip acuminate to caudate, base cuneate,9.0-12.0 cm long, 2.5-3.2 cm wide, densely serrulate, upper surface sparsely villous along the midrib, lower surface glabrous. Petioles 8-10 mm long. Shrub or small tree up to 4 m tall, young shoots glabrous, angular, older branches smooth and gray in color. Distribution: Liping County, Guizhou Province, China; Elevation: 600-1,200 m; Specific locality: Wuhushan, Liping County, Guizhou Province, China.
