Leaves coriaceous, elliptic, 7-13 cm long, 3-5 cmwide, apices acute, bases broadly i mely shiny above, glabrous below, lateral veins 6-7 pairs, upper half of margins serrulate, petioles 1-1.5 cm long. Flowersterminal, sessile, red; bracts and sepals 9-10, pubescent; outer 4 perules smal, 5-7 mmlong; inner5-6 perules ovoid, 2-2.5 cm long; petals 6-7, 5-6.5 cm long; stamens 2.5-3 cmlong, outer filament whorl free, glabrous; ovaries glabrous, 3-locular, styles apically 3-cleft. Capsules subglobose, 4-6 cm in diameter, pericarp shiny and smooth.

Flowers are pink to deep pink, 7.0-10.0 cm in diameter, borne singly at the tips of twigs. Perules 9-10, outer surface pubescent. Petals 6-7, 5.0-6.5 cm long, 4.0-5.0 cm wide, broadly obovate, tip emarginate, united at the base with the staminal column. Androecium glabrous,2.5-3.0 cm long, outer filaments free, not fused at the base. Gynoecium glabrous, 2.0-2.5 cm in length, 3 styles shallowly divided at the tip. Blooming season: late winter to spring. Capsules subglobose, surface smooth, 3.0-4.0 cm in diameter, 3 locules. Leaves elliptic, tip acute, base broadly cuneate, 7.0-13.0 cm long, 3.0-5.0 cm wide, margin sparsely serrulate on upper half, upper surface with lateral veins visible, lower surface with both midrib and lateral veins raised, glabrous. Petiole 12-15 mm long, glabrous. Small tree up to 5 m tall, young shoots glabrous, older branches smooth, gray-brown in color. Distribution:Nanfeng County, Jiangxi Province and contiguous localities in Fujian Province;Elevation: 900-1, 200 m; Specific locality: Junfengshan (Junfeng Mountain), Nanfeng County, Jiangxi Province, China.

Peking)。庐山植物园3061，5503。浙江：庆元，张朝芳、黄正璋315；瑞安，章绍尧6643；泰顺，章绍尧5566。【形态特征】小乔木，嫩枝无毛。叶革质，椭圆形，长7-13厘米，宽3-5厘米，先端急锐尖，基本阔楔形，上面极光亮，下面无毛，侧脉6-7对，边缘上半部有细锯 齿，叶柄长1-1.5厘米。花顶生，无柄，红色，苞片及萼片9-10,最外面4片细小，长5-7毫米，内面5-6片卵圆形，长2-2.5厘米，被毛；花瓣6-7片，长5-6.5厘米；雄蕊长2.5-3厘米，外轮花丝离生，无毛；子房无毛，3室，花柱先端3浅裂。蒴果近球形，直径4厘米，果皮光滑。

高继银、帕克斯、杜跃强，2005. 《山茶属植物主要原种彩色图集》浙江科学技术出版社，第52页。花粉红色至深粉红色，花径7.0~10.0厘米，单花顶生。鱗片9~10枚，外面被柔毛。花瓣6~7枚，长5.0~6.5厘 米，宽4.0~5.0厘米，阔倒卵形，先端凹缺，基部与雄蕊柱连生。雄蕊无毛，长2.5~3.0厘米，外轮花丝基部离生。雌蕊无毛，长2.0~2.5厘米，花柱先端3浅裂。花期冬末至春季。蒴果近球形，表面光滑，直径3.0~4.0厘米，3室。叶椭圆形，先端尖，基部阔楔形，长7.0~ 13.0厘米，宽3.0~ 5.0厘米，上半部边缘具疏齿，叶面侧脉可见，叶背主脉和侧脉凸起，无毛。叶柄长12~15毫米，无毛。小乔木，高可达5米，嫩枝无毛，老枝光滑，灰褐色。分布：江西省东南部的南丰县与福建省接壌的地区，海拔 900-1200米。可寻地点:江西省南丰县军峰山。
