Flowers are light yellow, occasionally with purplish spots, 1.5-2.0 cm in diameter, borne at the tips of twigs and in leaf axils. Pedicels 3-4 mm long. Bracts 5, persistent. Sepals 5, pubescent on both sides with ciliate margins. Petals 5-7, long-elliptic. Androecium glabrous, 8-10 mm long, outermost filaments slightly fused at the base into a short column. Gynoecium 7-9 mm long, 3 styles, free, not fused at the base, ovary glabrous. Blooming season: late autumn to winter. Capsules subglobose, 3 locules, pericarp wall 1-3 mm thick. Leaves long-lanceolate, tip acute or acuminate, base cuneate, 6.0-8.0 cm long, 1.8-2.5 cm wide, margin nearly smooth, upper surface with midrib slightly raised, lower surface with midrib and lateral veins significantly raised. Petioles 5-10 mm long, glabrous. Shrub up to 2 m tall, young shoots light red to red, glabrous, older branches smooth and gray-brown in color. Distribution: Under evergreen forests canopies in the limestone area of Longzhou County in southern Guangxi; Elevation: 150-230 m; Specific locality: Longzhou County, Guangxi, China.
