» Description

Gao Jiyin, Clifford R. Parks, Du Yueqiang, 2005, Collected Species of the Genus Camellia an Illustrated Outline,p.154. Flowers are white, 4.0-5.0 cm in diameter, borne singly at the tips of shoots and in leaf axils. Perules8-10, outer surface villous. Petals 5-10, 2.0-2.7 cm long, 0.8-1.5 cm wide, ovate, rounded at the tip, slightly fused at the base with the stami-nal column. Androecium glabrous, 1.1-1.5 cm in long, outer stamens fused from the base into a column 3-5 mm long. Gynoecium 1.2-1.5 cm long, 3 styles, free, not fused at the base, ovary densely villous. Blooming season: autumn to early winter. Capsules subglobose, 4,0-7.5 cm in diameter, 3 locules, surface rough and furfuraceous, pericarp wall 6-11 mm thick. Seeds glabrous. Leaves elliptic, tip acuminate, base broadly cuneate, 7.0-15.0 cm long, 3.0-6.0 cm wide, serrulate, upper surface with midrib and lateral veins impressed, lower surface with midrib and lateral veins raised, pubescent. Petioles 5-8 mm long, pubescent. Shrub or small tree up to 5 m tall, young shoots and buds villous, older branches sometimes pubescent. Distribution: Dayao Mountain, Jinxiu County in eastern Guangxi; Elevation: 600-800 m; Specific locality: under the evergreen forests of Mentou Village, Liuxiang Township, Jinxiu County, Guangxi, China.

高继银、帕克斯、杜跃强,2005. 《山茶属植物主要原种彩色图集》浙江科学技术出版社,第154页。 花白色,花径4.0~5.0厘米,单花顶生或腋生。鱗片8~10枚,外面被长柔毛。花瓣5~10枚,长2.0~2.7厘米,宽0.8~1.5厘米,卵圆形,先端圆,基部与雄蕊柱略连生。雄蕊无毛,长1.1~1.5厘米,基部连生3~5毫米。雌蕊长1.2~1.5厘米,花柱3条,基部离生,子房密被长绒毛。花期秋季至冬初。蒴果近球形,直径4.0~7.5厘米,3室,表面粗糙,果皮厚6~11毫米。种子无毛。叶椭圆形,先端渐尖,基部阔楔形,长7.0~15厘米,宽3.0~ 6.0厘米,边缘具齿,叶面中脉和侧脉凹陷,叶背中脉和侧脉凸起,被柔毛。叶柄长5~8毫米,被柔毛。灌木或小乔木,高可达5米,嫩枝和顶芽被长柔毛,老枝有时有柔毛。分布:广西壮族自治区东部大瑶山金秀县一带,海拔 600-800米。可寻地点:广西壮族自治区金秀县六巷乡门 头村的常绿阔叶林中。
