TYPE: Vietnam. Vinh Phuc Province; within the boundaries of the Tam Dao National Park, 2 April 2001, G. Orel, A. S. Curry, A. Luc, G. Richards Orel & Curry 1240 (holotype, NSW).

C. reflexa Orel & Curry possesses sessile or almost sessile, terminal flowers; bracteoles 2-4; bracts 2-3; sepals 3; petals 7-8, in 2 whorls; filaments waxy and glabrous, basally joined to each other and to petals; styles 3, serpentine, conical; ovary 3-locular, finely hairy, ovoid to oblate; seed capsules ovoid to oblate, 3-locular, with 2 seeds per locule, but sometimes only one; seed laterally compressed, dark brown to almost black, glabrous and shiny.

This name is a synonym of Camellia furfuracea var. furfuracea

花无梗或几乎无梗，顶生花；小苞片 2-4；苞片 2-3；萼片 3；花瓣 7-8，2 轮；花丝腊制和无毛，基部彼此连接并与花瓣连接；花柱 3，蛇形，圆锥形； 子房 3 室，有细毛，卵球形到扁球形；蒴果卵球形到扁球形，3 室，每室有 2 粒种子，但有时只有 1 粒；种子侧面压扁，暗褐色到几乎黑色，无毛且有光泽。
