This name is a synonym of Camellia langbianensis (1991).

C. tadungensis Orel, Curry & Luu possesses pedunculate, terminal and axillary flowers which occur single or in twos, threes or fours; flowers light to mid yellow with orange-red petal bases; sepals 6, in 2 whorls; petals 6-7, in a losely arranged, imperfect spiral, some of the inner petals basally attached to filaments; styles 5-6, basally joined; ovary rotund, 4-5 locular, yellowish-green to light yellow, finely tomentose.

花具梗，顶生和腋生，单朵或两朵、三朵或四朵；花浅至中黄色，花瓣基部橙红色；萼片 6，2 轮；花瓣 6-7 片，呈疏松排列的不完美螺旋状，部分内侧花瓣基部着生在花丝上；花柱 5-6 ，基部连接；子房圆形，4-5 室，黄绿色至浅黄色，被细绒毛。
