Sunyatseni, monogr. ser. 1: 173. 1981. [Description] Small tree 4 m tall; branchlets puberulent, soon glabrous, older branches dull brown. Leaves coriaceous, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, 5.5-8 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, apicescaudate, bases cuneate, olive-green above in the dry state, shiny, glabrous, muricate; lateral veins ca. 6 pairs, margins serrulate; petioles 2-4 mm long, pubescent. Flowersaxillary or terminal, pedicels 1-2 mm long; bracts 5, 2 at the pedicel base, 2 in the pedicelmiddle, semilunar, 1. 5 mm long, pubescent, remaining 1 bract near the calyx, 2 mmlong; calyx cup-shaped, 5 mm long, pubescent, upper region 5-cleft, clefts orbicular, apices rounded; petals 5, bases slightly connate, outer margins pubescent; stamensshorter than petals; filaments basally connate into a short tube, free filaments glabrous; ovaries pubescent; styles 1.4 cm long, pubescent, apices 3-cleft. Capsules triangular-oblong, 2 cm long, 1.3 cm wide, pubescent, 1-locular, 2-valvate dehiscent, valves 1-1. 5mm thick, woody; seeds 1, 1.5 cm long, 1 cm wide, seed coat black; persistentcalyx cup-shaped, pubescent; fruit pedicel 2-3 mm long. This species differs from C. caudata and C. cratera by having a long cylindrical fruitwith three ridges. In addition with C. caudata the filaments are pubescent, and with C. cratera the outer filament whorl is connate.

Austro-Sin.)。和长尾毛蕊茶C. caudata及杯萼毛蕊茶C. cratera 的区别除了蒴果长筒形，有3稜之外，长尾毛蕊茶的花丝有毛，而杯萼毛蕊茶的外轮花丝是离生的。【形态特征】小乔木，高4米；嫩枝有微毛，不久变秃净，老枝暗褐色。叶革质，狭长圆状披针形，长5.5-8厘米，宽1.5-2厘米，先端长尾状，基部楔形，上面干后橄榄绿色，发亮，无毛，有多数小突起，侧脉约6对，边缘有疏锯齿，叶柄长2-4毫米，有柔毛。花腋生及顶生，花梗长1-2毫米；苞片5片，2片在花梗基部，2片在花梗中部，半月形，长1毫米，有毛，另1片贴近花萼，长2毫米；花萼杯状，长5毫米，被毛，上部5裂，裂片圆形，先端圆。花瓣5片，基部略连生，外侧有柔毛。雄蕊比花瓣短，花丝基部连合成短管，游离花丝无毛。子房有毛，花柱长1.4厘米，有毛，先端3裂。蒴果三角状长圆形，长2厘米，宽1.3厘米，有柔毛，1室；种子1粒，长1.5厘米，宽1厘米，种皮黑色；果爿3爿，厚1-1.5毫米，木质；宿存花萼杯状，被毛；果梗长2-3毫米。
