[Description] Shrub, branchlets glabrous. Leaves elliptic, 7-10 cm long, 3.5-4 cm wide, brown-punctate below, lateral veins 5-7 pairs. Flowers red, glabrous, 6.5 cm in diameter; bractsand sepals 9-10, to 1 cm long, pubescent; petals 6-7, 2. 8-3. 6 cm long, basally connate; stamens 2 cm long, in 1-2 series; filament tube 7-8 mm long, glabrous, ovariespubescent, styles 1 cm long. Perules with outer surface silky pubescent. Petals 6-7,2.5-4.0 cm long, 2.0-2.8 cm wide. Androecium 3.0-3.5 cm long. Gynoecium 3.0-3.2 cm long, 3 styles divided at the tip, ovary densely tomentose. Blooming season: winter to spring. Leaves elliptic to oblong elliptic, tip acuminate, 7.0-10.0 cm long,3.5-4.9 cm wide, lower surface with cork warts. Distribution: Any naturally distributed place of this species has not yet discovered in the world since it was named as a species. It is widely cultivated both in Japan and in China.

Hisanti, March 21,1915 (中山大学标本号95115)。【形态特征】灌木,嫩枝无毛。叶椭圆形,长7-10厘米,宽3.5-4厘米,下面有褐腺点,侧脉5-7对,花红色,无柄,直径6.5厘米;苞及萼9-10片,最长1厘米,有柔毛;花辩6-7片,长2.8-3.6厘米,基部连生;雄蕊长2厘米,1-2轮,花丝管长7-8毫米,无毛;子房有毛,花柱长1厘米。
