Flowers are white-shaded red to light-pink, slightly fragrant, 4.0-6.0 cm in diameter, borne singly at the tips of shoots. Perules 8-9, outside surface white-sericeous. Petals 5-6, 3.0-3.6 cm long, 2.0-2.3 cm wide, obovate, tip slightly emarginate, outer surface slightly pilose, slightly united with the staminal column at the base. Androecium glabrous, 2.0 cm long, outer stamens fused from the base into a short tube. Gynoecium about 2.0 cm long, 3 styles shallowly divided at the tip, ovary white-silky tomentose. Blooming season: spring. Capsules globose, 2.5-3.5 cm in diameter, 3 locules, 3-5 seeds per fruit. Leaves lanceolate or elliptic, tip acuminate or caudate, base cuneate, 6.0-9.5 cm long, 1.4-2.5 cm wide, margin thinly serrulate, upper surface smooth, glabrous, lower surface smooth, glabrous. Petiole 10-15 mm long. Shrub or small tree up to 4.5 m tall, young shoots glabrous, older branches smooth, pale brown in color. Distribution: Xifeng County in central Guizhou Province; Elevation: 1,200-1,300m；Specific locality: Kucaoping, Xifeng County, Guizhou Province, China.

高继银、帕克斯、杜跃强，2005. 《山茶属植物主要原种彩色图集》浙江科学技术出版社，第86页。花白色泛红色至淡粉红色，略芳香，花径4.0~6.0厘米，单花顶生。鱗片8~9枚，外被白色绢毛。花瓣5~6枚，长3.0~3.6厘米，宽2.0~2.3厘米，倒卵形，先端略凹缺，背面略有疏短毛，基部与雄蕊柱略连生。雄蕊无毛，长2.0厘米，外轮花丝基部连生形成短管。雌蕊长约2.0厘米，花柱先端3浅裂，子房被白色丝状柔毛。花期春季。蒴果球形，直径2.5~3.5厘米，3室。每果种子3~5粒,种子近球形，褐色。叶披针形或椭圆形，先端渐尖或尾尖，基部楔形，长6.0~9.5厘米，宽1.4~2.5厘米，边缘具齿，叶两面光滑，无毛。叶柄长10~15毫米。灌木或小乔木，高可达4.5米，嫩枝无毛，老枝光滑，暗褐色。分布：贵州省中部的息烽县，海拔1200- 1300米。可寻地点:贵州省息烽县苦草坪。
