Alice in-the Palace     (C. japonica)   ACS Registration #3122. Registered in 2019. This 15-year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in 2011. It was originated by Clarence and Lillian Gordy of Ocala, Florida and registered by Mark Crawford of Valdosta, Georgia and propagated by Loch Laurel Nursery of Valdosta, Georgia.  BLOOM: The large sized 12.7 cm x 6.4 cm (treated 15.2 cm x 7.6 cm) semi-double to loose peony form flower is bubble gum pink. It has yellow anthers and white filaments. This profuse bloomer is long lasting with heavy petal texture, consistent form and falls in one piece. The early blooms are peony form followed by the semi-double form. PLANT: The plant habit is upright and spreading. The growth rate is vigorous. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. LEAF: The medium green leaves average 10.8 cm x 5.7 cm with low serration. BLOOM SEASON: Midseason
